Selling to the Federal Government – Overcoming Obstacles and Insights into the Culture of DC – The Life Blood of All Acquisitions

Whether you are a large business or a small business, access and market intelligence are two of the most significant challenges facing Wisconsin businesses when selling to the Federal market. Wisconsin contractors will have the opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of opportunity market challenges and opportunities at this year’s Wisconsin in Washington event scheduled for June 15 – 16, 2011 at various locations on the Hill.

Washington has a culture all its own. Whether you agree with what is happening at our nation’s capitol or not, if the Federal Government is your customer, you need to understand its characteristics and learn how to work with the power, the politics and the personalities. Wisconsin in Washington is designed to help you understand the challenges and the opportunities and overcome the obstacles that define Federal acquisition.

Wisconsin in Washington is an annual event hosted by Wisconsin’s congressional delegation, State of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) Executive Board of Directors. This unique event brings current and prospective federal contractors from Wisconsin to meet with the technical and political experts who direct and manage the federal procurement process. This year’s agenda includes briefings from and meetings with agency representatives, legislators and procurement experts on topics including budgets and priorities, legislative process, business opportunities and challenges.

This is a must attend event for businesses large and small who are serious about federal sales. You will have the opportunity to develop your Federal network and gather current sales and market information. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, ask for expert advice and strengthen your government market position.

Early registration Is available until June 2nd and a discounted block of rooms is available until June 1st (see travel and location page). Visit the SPEAKERS and AGENDA tab for updated information.

The Wisconsin Procurement Institute, which organizes the annual Wisconsin in Washington trip, has been credited, in part, with a steady increase in the amount of federal contracts being awarded to Wisconsin businesses.
